Traffic

A series of specific requirements are imposed on traffic and railway lighting. A traffic- and raylwaysignal must function and be visible from a distance in all weather conditions. This necessitates high light intensity, high color temperature, and a very long lifespan.

The incandescent bulb has been used in traffic signals for over 80 years as it meets all these requirements. Additionally, the incandescent lamp is inexpensive to procure and easy to replace. Finally, the incandescent bulb has the property of emitting heat, thereby preventing condensation and fogging on signal lamps. This makes the incandescent bulb the safe choice.
